So, as you all MUST be aware - Mr Rausch has abandoned us all to go gallavant over the seas in the U S of A. He'll be spending 3 weeks driving up and down the east side of the country, playing his keytar on stage with Johnny Foreigner as the Supporting act for Los Campesinos! Although I am happy for the guy, I think it's very unfair that he is getting to live this dream
when the rest of us have bosses that would never allow for that kind of leave and are sitting in offices the country over staring at screens. So, obviously, in a rage of pity revenge I've hijacked his blog. SUCKER!
After resolving that I would go through with this whole thing, I was slapped in the face with a big hurdle. The reason why people read this blog is cause they love Ben: He's a charming guy, he does a lot of things every week that grants bloggability. Whereas I, his lazy good-for-nothing girlfriend, lounges around Pleasantvilla (The name we gave to our commune in Linden - this place:
- because of an inside joke based on a comment made by the singer of TV on the radio (when we saw them live in Scotland) ) when I don't have work to do and enjoy the simplicity of volunt
ary retardation - watching hours of Jersey Shore or That 70s show, sprouting roots into the couch only interrupted by my sporadic visits to the local chinese restaurant, to get my standard order - Rainbow Rolls and sashimi.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the trashy show jersey shore, here's an alt-friendly introduction: the cast give Michael Cera-face a Guido (Italian American trash) makeover
It's my cultural gift to you.
In weekend news, Ben left for the airport Friday afternoon. Luckily his girlfriend is a manic naggy wench, cause when he told me that he was taking the Gautrain busses to the Gautrain, I was all like: "ARE YOU SURE THEY ACCEPT CASH???!!!"
and he was all like "I'm pretty sure, I'll see when I get to the bus"
Me: "THAT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!!!YOU'RE GONNA BE LATE FOR Y
OUR FLIGHT! YOU'LL LOSE SO MUCH MONEY!!!! YOU'LL BE SHREDDED IN PIECES OF SADNESS SO SMALL I WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO PUT YOU BACK TOGETHER AGAIN!!!!" *frantically call the hotline* "SEEEE!!!! I WAS RIGHT!!! TOLD YOU SO!!!!! NOW I HAVE TO TAKE YOU TO THE TRAIN STATION!! AND MISS WORK!!!"
him, "thanks for being so thorough my love, thanks for taking me to the station, you're the best"
After dropping him off at the station I became a big mush of "what now?" I'm so not used to being left up to my own devices over weekends. This is pretty much how it would go:
except... I'm not a cat, so the cutesy-ness is way wayyy less.
I decided to fight the natural urges of anti-social inebriation and invited a bunch of people over to my house for sundowners. It was a good idea; not only did a supercool group of people pitch up, but I momentarily forgot about how much I hated Ben (But he's so damn HOT :/ )
Once everyone had kind of continued their nights elsewhere, Joe and Maria kidnapped me to go to Gin. I was opposed to the idea initially, cause I forgot to eat dinner, and my brain started working a bit funny, but Maria assured me that all would be fine. She finally realized the error of her ways when some guy decided to try chat us up, we bounced him and he started rapping about how we're mediocre sheep. I decided that I could take him, but forgot the rappy part from that phenomenal handclap band song, instead, all that came out was "5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40!", It had the desired effect and the guy kind of backed off in a "maybe they're not mediocre sheep but severely demented crazybombs" kind of way. I soon realized that my 8 mile moment meant that it was couch time and Maria agreed to take me home. I spent the rest of the evening on skype with my best friend, Zithe, and was back on the I hate Ben so much bus for a good 3 hours before I realized that it was officially bedtime.
The next day was MJ and Cecilia's wedding. But I'm guessing I should wait for photo's of the night to surface before I could do it any kind of justice, after all it was these kids who made all of the kiekies. And there's some suprises there as well.
Till next time. Adieu!
