You are invited! "Lost in the Fall" - Jozi album launch!

Tomorrow night I'll be spinning some rock and roll at Town Hall, supporting Cape Town's Dirty Skirts. The band's celebrating the launch of a brand new album, "Lost in the Fall" and as the band's third album and considering they're up there with The Tutus as one of the very few local not-kak bands that have survived for more than 5 years, it's certainly something worth celebrating. What's more my home-dawg Moe Joe will also be DJing on the night, so you know things are gonna get crazy!

We do this all the time: Robo Pops!

In preparation of Saturday's robo-revival of ultimate awesomeness, I figured I'd post up some pics of past Dynamo action. Snapped across the 4 Gauteng Dynamo's, it's hardly a complete collection, but it's a good sample of some of the rad robot suits people have made!

You are invited! Super Lottery Thief!

This blog is all about the radness going down in my home, the megalopolis Johtoria (or Pretoresburg to some). I don't post much on what goes down in the distant land of the Western Cape, but there's something that I should bring to the attention of any Cape readers this blog has:

The amazing Lottery Tickets and Supercancer are playing in your city tomorrow night! They are awesome and I am jealous of you because you can watch them and I can't and if you have a soul and want to see some music with real heart belted out right in front you (because God knows there surely isn't enough of that going around in this day and age) then you should be at this:

Free Mix Friday: From Sass Africa with Love pt.1!

This ones an oldish mix that was posted up here way back in 2009. It's the first of 4 mixes I did as a part of a cross-medium project I put together for a London exhibiton called The Sense Summer Art Fair. This particular episode of "From Sass Africa with Love" was made up of some of the bands that transformed me into The Sassquatch and got me DJing back in the ancient times known 2005. From 70ies post-punk queens, to New York no-wavers to underground South African jive legends & DC art-punk heroes, it's a wild ride that I'm sure you'll agree, is best represented by a dachshund waring a giraffe suit!

Jo Fo Euro. Intermission: The Juneypics pt.1

Right now I'm waaaaaay to busy to write about the last few shows of the tour, so this seems like a good time to take another brake in our chronological coverage of the 2011 Johnny Foreigner European Tour. This time it's the tour's postcard pics, shot by Jo Fo's one and only casio-wielding, drum-slamming Sir Junior Elvis Washington Laidley! So now, in absolutely no order, here's us having adventures in Germany, Prague, Switzerland and France!
