Hooray for Humans! ELM in studio!

Regular readers will know I've started playing video with a band called Eyes Like Mirrors. Fans of the Jozi instrumentalists will also know that, other than a pair of pretty rough demos, the band have yet to release any proper recordings.

Like most local "underground" bands do, ELM have struggled to find somewhere to record that isn't too expensive but also doesn't end with crappy sounding recordings. Until now. Or rather until 3 weekends back.

After we played at "Above Us Only Sky" the band were approached by budding producer David Anderson. While ELM were an awesome young band unable to find someone awesome to record them, David was an awesome young producer unable to find awesome bands to record. You see where I'm going with this...

So last week The Mirrors finished recording the last parts of their first song with David. Everyone is incredibly excited to hear the finished product and I think it's safe to say it's gonna be something really special. All photos by Andrei Van Wyk
